Mosaic OS currently supports Google Pixel 6 and newer devices.
Can I install Mosaic OS on my iPhone or other Android phones?
No. Mosaic OS can only be installed on a supported Google Pixel device. iPhones don’t allow custom operating systems, and most Android manufacturers don’t provide the same level of secure compatibility.
Is Mosaic OS free to use?
Yes. Mosaic OS is free and open source. Our goal is to provide a better alternative that helps people protect their data and digital privacy.
Is Mosaic OS easy to use?
Yes — it works like a normal Android phone.
However, getting maximum privacy takes some effort. We recommend learning the basics and configuring your device properly (profiles, permissions, and app choices) using our blog and educational content (coming soon).
How can I install Mosaic OS?
Installation is guided through our installer website:

It walks you through the process step by step and helps you install the correct Mosaic OS version on your Pixel device. The installation takes around 15 minutes.
Before starting, make sure to back up your data, as the installation process erases all existing content on the device. MosaicOS runs exclusively on supported Google Pixel models.
What should I do after installing MosaicOS?
After installation, a few important settings help you secure your device and optimize privacy from the start.
This includes configuring security and privacy controls, managing permissions, and adjusting quick settings for microphone, camera, location, and network access.
How do profiles and app containers work?
MosaicOS allows you to create multiple user profiles to separate apps and data, providing an additional layer of security.
You can isolate Google services, banking apps, or work tools into separate environments while keeping your personal data protected. Applications run inside containers and cannot access other data unless explicitly permitted.
Can I use my favorite apps?
Yes. If an app works on Android, it will work on Mosaic OS.
However, some features that rely on Google services — such as certain NFC payment options or proprietary integrations — may have limited functionality.
Will installing Mosaic OS erase my data?
