I don’t have anything to hide

We live in a world where we are surrounded with a lot of digital tools. We have phones, tablets, computers. We use the Internet daily and we are online all the time. Our phone is with us, as we use it not just for talking to one another. We use it for searching, reading news and info channels, finding our way in the city, texting and e-mailing to family members and friends. We even shop through apps and pay with digital cards. We listen to music on our phones, and we make pictures with it too. Our calendar is full of programs and meetings. Some even have health information on their phone too. We live our lives with and on our phones.

The question is, is this safe as it is this way? We all know the answer. No, it is not!

We need to talk about PRIVACY, because it’s a fundamental part of our individual rights. Privacy isn’t about hiding. Most people say, they don’t have anything to hide from anyone. That could be true, but privacy isn’t about keeping secrets, it’s about protecting yourself. Because privacy is a CHOICE. I have the right to decide who gets to know my business. My privacy and my security come first. It’s about mutual respect, respect for my choices, my identity, and my individuality. It’s a commitment to ensure everyone’s voice is valued and protected.

So, I have the freedom to think, to act, and make decisions. I have the power to maintain control over my stories, my private moments, my private thoughts and my private choices.

How can I do that? It takes time and energy to learn about it.
