Could I be online?

These days, there’s practically no such thing as “offline.” We live our lives online; we have internet access on our phones practically 24 hours a day, and we’re reachable anywhere, anytime. This is a necessity for people today; who or what made it a necessity is another question, one we won’t answer here.

It’s a fact that constant internet connectivity offers users countless benefits, but we talk less about the advantages of continuous online presence for service providers, big tech companies, and app developers. They’re constantly keeping tabs on us through the internet. They know where we are, what we’re doing, they know our interests and hobbies, they know what we like and what we want—and we’re the ones providing them with this information, we just don’t realize it or don’t want to know about it.

We shrug it off—why shouldn’t Facebook know which restaurant I ate at yesterday? At least tomorrow it’ll recommend another place in the area. It’s a win-win!

But does it have to be this way? NO!

MosaicOS supports offline operation, allowing apps to run without network access. This is particularly useful in situations where an internet connection isn’t needed for privacy reasons. In the app info, you can disable network access for each individual app. But to use most apps, we need internet access. We chat online, use social media, share our photos and videos, work, shop, and stay informed… We can’t live without the internet, so with most apps, we can’t turn off internet access because they’d become useless.

There’s no such thing as a free app. Developers aren’t creating charitable services. If you’re not paying with your money, you’re paying with your data. Even the most harmless-seeming information can later be used for influence or manipulation. You can avoid all of this by using MosaicOS. Take back control of your data—we’re here to help!
